2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake is an upgraded version of Mercedes Benz CLA, which has already been applauded for its fabulous looks and affordable price. The car has been revealed in the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Exterior and Interior
The Shooting Brake is beautiful enough to hold your gaze. Its extended roofline, which curves to become a shade-like structure towering the tailgate, provides symmetry to the overall exterior. Skeptics may comment that the design has too much similarity with the Mercedes Benz CLA. Although it is true, it cannot be denied that the Shooting Brake is full of sophistication. The rear of the vehicle has a compact design with four exhaust pipes deeply set and the diffuser running its full width. This feature is expected to improve upon the aerodynamics of the 2016 Mercedes Benz.
The inside look of the car is sporty and casual. There is a flat-bottomed steering wheel with 3 spokes. The seats that are covered with leather and micro fiber have bolsters in the right areas, which promise a comfortable journey. The styling is further improved with the use of steel in sill panels and pedals, and red highlights on the seats. The console has a screen in the center displaying information about the car and its performance.
Engine and Mileage
Belonging to the AMG family, the Shooting Brake will have the familiar 4-cylinder 2.0liter engine, which was first used in the A45 AMG. Based on the available data, this Merc should be able to deliver 360hp with a 332lb-ft. of torque. The displacement is 180hp per liter, which makes it possible for the vehicle to reach the speed of 62mph in a span of 4.7 seconds with 155mph as its top speed. The Speedshift DCT gets the credit for ensuring fast and consistent acceleration from 0-60 in a matter of few seconds; actual span is not yet known though. Shooting Brake is also capable of behaving fuel efficiently as its mpg is 31 on highways.
Another commendable feature is the 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which works with 3-stage ESP and ESP Curve Dynamic Assist. It lets the driver choose different driving modes as per his convenience. The Assist customizes the torque with each mode and extracts maximum performance from the engine.
Price and Release Data
Priced at $52500, the Shooter Brake should be in the showrooms in March 2015.
Its appearance and mind-blowing engine will excite every driver. However, some may find the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake too expensive and may look for other options for their commuting.
